Replace the Front Door

When people arrive at your home, they generally knock-on and stand in front of the front door. As such, they spend more time looking at the front door than at the rest of your home. Plus, the front door often serves as the focal point of your home when viewed from the front. So, a new front door can make your whole home exterior look nicer. If you want this improvement to make a big difference, then pick a front door that's quite different from the one you have now. If you have a natural wood door, replace it with a brightly colored one. If you have a white door, replace it with a wood one.

Paint the Trim

Painting your entire home exterior is a big project that might break your budget. But painting just the trim is a much smaller endeavor. You can even do this project yourself if you are comfortable climbing on a ladder. Even adding shutters to two windows on either side of the front door can really draw the eyes to these windows and change your home's overall look. Most window companies and siding companies install shutters, and this should be a rather affordable, one-day job.
